Sanitation Superintendent

The Sanitation Superintendent manages the operations of the Sanitation Division and directs the collection and transport of solid waste.

• Prioritizes, assigns, monitors, and evaluates the work of division employees.
• Reviews work orders and route sheets to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of solid waste collection activities.
• Coordinates employee safety meetings; monitors work and enforces safety policies and procedures.
• Assists in the development of the division annual and capital improvement budgets; monitors and controls expenditures under current budget.
• Researches and develops specifications for division vehicles and equipment; recommends and coordinates purchases.
• Develops holiday and special work schedules.
• Responds to and resolves customer complaints.
• Prepares reports; maintains records of division activities.
• Assists with the administration of the solid waste ordinance.
• Oversees the placement, repair, and removal of all collection containers and performs other assigned duties.

• Bachelor's Degree;
• Five (5) years of experience in a related field;
• Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience;
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Certification; and
• Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License.
