Position TitleExecutive Director, Business and Industry Training
Position DescriptionUnder the general supervision of the Vice President for Economic Development, the Executive Director for Business and Industry Training is responsible for cultivating relationships with regional business and industry, regional school districts as well as with the other economic development divisions within TCSG. The Executive Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of business and industry training programs within the immediate region, and with other colleges within TCSG.
The Executive Director develops and administers training programs and courses that may require customization, the coordination of staff, the coordination and oversight of contracted instructors, and the coordination of related services inherent in course and training delivery. The Executive Director will promote and recruit for the college’s Industrial Operations Technology Diploma and oversee its internship program. The Executive Director will also serve as an ambassador for the Georgia Training Center for Industrial Operations and help with the college’s participation in significant community events and activities to maintain a positive image of the school within the service delivery area and the region as a whole.
The Executive Director will also assist with and Support the Economic Development Division of the College.
- Determine the training needs of business and industry within the college’s immediate region by conducting visits and establishing relationships with business and industry within the region.
- Serve as the leader in developing and creating training programs to serve the region – working closely with the Director for Instructional Operations to develop and create training programs.
- Prepare the training programs’ specifications and budget
- Establish partnerships with other TCSG colleges to provide industrial operations training.
- Work closely with the Director for Instructional Operations and the Coordinator for Economic Development Support to maintain the Division’s training calendar
- Work closely with PR and Marketing and the Coordinator for Economic Development Support to promote these regional training programs to business and industry
- Meet the division’s goals for regional training hours delivered during the fiscal year
- Meet the division’s goals for partnership and internship development during the fiscal year
- Serve as an ambassador for the Georgia Training Center for Industrial Operations
- Establish partnerships with regional employers to support the Industrial Operations Technology Diploma program.
- Manage the Industrial Operations Technology Diploma Partnership and Internship Programs
- Serve as a liaison to local school systems and CTAE staff as it regards recruitment for the Industrial Operations Diploma program
- Oversee and promote apprenticeship program(s) for the college
- Work closely with the Coordinator for Economic Development Support in maintaining data integrity for the Modern Campus reporting system
