Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols, provides advanced practice nursing services in a health department setting requiring independent clinical judgment.
Delivers comprehensive health department services including Women’s Health, Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) management, PrEP, immunizations, tuberculosis, and diabetes and hypertension management, as well as other public health services such as Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and child health. Assesses clients, performs examinations, develops and implements plans of care, and orders, prescribes, and manages treatment within scope of licensure.
Adheres to public health protocols for vaccine administration, specimen collection, documentation, and compliance with safety and HIPAA standards. Services are provided throughout the Southeast Health District and require travel to multiple clinic locations to support district-wide operations, outreach initiatives, and emergency response efforts. Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing and Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse and Georgia license as an APRN and CPR certification.
Preferred QualificationsPublic Health experience preferred, Women’s Health experience.
