Position Summary

Lead process improvement initiatives within a Distribution Center, applying Walmart Performance System (WPS) methodologies to eliminate quality losses and deviations. Deliver results through KPI analysis, standard work development, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead process improvement tools and methods such as 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time and motion studies to eliminate quality losses and deviations within the Distribution Center according to the Network Process Structure and Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs.
  • Deliver functional area results through KPI analysis, loss elimination, and creation of standard work to reduce process variation.
  • Assist in reviewing and responding to quality-focused process improvement projects owned by area managers.
  • Compile and submit deviations to the One Best Way playbooks and provide input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities.
  • Assist with the tactical deployment of the Quality Excellence WPS program methodology.
  • Manage project execution of top quality losses in the functional area and support building the capability of other area managers and associates.
  • Assist in creating area quality loss profile analysis and performance metrics.
  • Develop gap analysis to support WPS integration.
  • Support Department Managers with WPS program projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements within the process area.
  • Lead quality-related savings projects within area of responsibility by eliminating losses from the process.
  • Promote and support company policies, initiatives, procedures, mission, values, and ethics and integrity standards.
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise, providing expert advice and guidance on best practices to meet customer and business needs.
  • Provide and support implementation of business solutions through building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, defining business needs, and monitoring progress and results.
  • Coordinate and oversee job‑related activities and assignments, building accountability and measuring progress toward goals and continuous learning.
  • Provide supervision and developmental opportunities for associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and recognition.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the Open Door Policy and guiding application of policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Quality or Process Improvement.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and analytical skills.
  • Preferred:
    Co‑op/Internship in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Distribution with experience applying Lean/Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Applied knowledge of a functioning Quality Management System, including Statistical Process Control, FMEA, quality KPIs, etc.
