Electrical Apprentice
Location:
Statesboro, GA. Full Time, Regular position.
The Apprentice assists skilled workers in the performance of duties related to the electrical trade by performing routine and semi-skilled repair work with the assistance of a skilled tradesman.
Responsibilities- Perform basic lighting installations, run new circuits, troubleshoot electrical problems and support other shops in electrical tasks (i.e., plumbing, HVAC).
- Assist skilled workers in building maintenance trades, supply tools, equipment, and materials to skilled workers.
- Operate trucks and other equipment required to complete tasks.
- Keep a daily log of time spent on each job and materials used.
- Maintain, repair, and clean tools, equipment, assigned service vehicle, and work areas.
- Follow all safety and other risk management policies in performance of work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of related work experience.
Preferred Experience
- Two (2) or more years of electrical (commercial) experience.
$18.12 – $22.21 per hour (non‑exempt, paid biweekly).

- Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for the specific position.
- Ability to analyze while multi-tasking.
- Ability to obtain a low voltage license and related certification after apprenticeship.
- Ability to provide technical advice to non-technical and technical audiences.
- Ability to use basic math skills daily.
- Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet institutional goals and support the University's mission for student success.
- Adept at testing, modifying, and re-testing.
- Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills.
- Attentive to detail.
- Demonstrated collaborative problem-solving skills.
