Structural Maintenance

Job Summary

Lead the University's carpentry program. Build and maintainresidential and commercial structures for University to ensurestructural validity. Ensures inventory and equipment is recorded and up to date.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, train and review work activities of subordinate carpentry personnel, including ability to assist in their professional development through training, coaching and performance evaluation
  • Conduct framing and installation of doors, windows, walls, structural stabilization, moisture remediation and mitigation, roofing, roofing sub-structures, concrete preparation and finishing, metal and wood furniture fabrication, interior ceilinggrids and ceiling tiles, flooring (carpet, ceramic tile and covebase systems), insulation applications, sheetrockinstallations/texturing and finishing, etc.
  • Write job-related materials such as work reports and records, accident reports, etc.
  • Responsible for initiating, developing, and completing preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all buildingstructures are maintained at a constant state of readiness
  • Complete requisition forms and necessary materials are ordered for each assigned project
  • Receive and document all work tasks and work orders viaelectronic means
  • Direct all carpentry work that takes place within carpentryshop
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience

  • Four (4) or more years of carpentry/construction experience
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

  • Six (6) or more years of carpentry experience
  • Two (2) or more years of carpentry or construction work experience in a higher education setting
  • One (1) or more years of commercial construction experience
  • One (1) or more years of Residential construction experience
  • One (1) or more years as a team lead of a construction job
Proposed Salary

$20.71 - $25.88 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
