Mechanical Maintenance

Perform routine and semi-skilled HVAC maintenance work while assisting skilled employees with routine maintenance and repairs.

Assists with routine and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment to help keep systems operating properly.

• Assists skilled HVAC employees with routine inspection,maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, andair-conditioning systems
• Performs basic tasks such as changing filters, cleaning equipment, lubricating components, and maintaining work areas
• Assists with the installation, removal, and replacement ofbasic HVAC components and equipment under supervision
• Uses basic hand and power tools to support HVAC maintenance andrepair activities
• Reports equipment issues, unusual conditions, and needed repairs to higher- level HVAC employees or supervisors

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience

• Two (2) or more years related work experience

$17.13 - $20.96 per hour

This is an exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

• Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
• Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office,Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and work order instructions
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
• Ability to work with power tools and various hand tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

KNOWLEDGE

• Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
• Basic working knowledge of various repair and maintenance HVACtasks

SKILLS

• Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
• Must be detail-oriented
