SummaryPosition will be responsible for assisting with daily operations within the finance department through direct participation in business processes. The position will work with the team in establishing, documenting, and maintaining procedures and control processes for accounting and finance.
Principal Duties And ResponsibilitiesFinancial Administration
- Responsible for posting of all income accruals and payments, and ensures accurate accounting of all receipts and deposits.
- Prepares, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles, and processes journal entries into appropriate accounts.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance workflow.
- Assists with compilation of monthly revenue & expense statements for management.
- Monthly recurring journal entries as assigned.
- Runs Financials and General Ledger audit trails.
- Account reconciliations and account analysis; monthly variance reporting.
- Monthly contract billing invoice preparation and maintenance of expenditures; including general ledger activity maintenance.
- Preparation of proformas and budgets for new and existing RFPs and grants; coordinating with appropriate leadership.
- Provide back-up support for daily cash/mail deposits.
- Annual budget participation as needed.
- Monthly financial reporting calls with budget owners.
Department Management
- Maintains appropriate internal controls and efficient financial procedures.
Other Financial Responsibilities
- Comply with Accounting and organizational policies and procedures.
- Report all out-of-compliance or unsafe activities to supervisor.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
This position does not have any direct supervision responsibilities.

Education and Experience Requirements
- A 4-year degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A concentration in business or accounting is preferred.
- Must be highly organized, professional, with good decision-making skills, and be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be proficient in MS Office including:
Outlook, Word and Excel. - Must be culturally sensitive to children and families and support cultural diversity throughout the program.
- Must have a valid North Carolina’s Driver’s license and be able to travel throughout our service area.
- Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal, HCPR and driving checks.

Salary Description
$49,440-$58,710 yearly
