Description

A Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet company quality standards and customer requirements. They perform inspections, conduct tests, document findings, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality specifications.
  • Perform measurements and testing using precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other testing equipment.
  • Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conforming products or processes.
  • Assist in investigating quality issues and determining root causes.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product quality.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
  • Review manufacturing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in internal audits and support external customer or regulatory audits.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and applicable industry standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in quality control, manufacturing, or inspection is preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing, production, or laboratory setting.
  • May require standing for extended periods, lifting materials, and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • May involve shift work, overtime, or weekend hours depending on production needs.
