The Staunton Circuit Court Clerk's Office is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Clerk
. The Deputy Clerk plays an essential role in providing excellent public service while supporting the daily operations of the Clerk's Office.
The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional customer service, assisting the public, attorneys, and court personnel in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner. Strong computer skills are required, including accurate data entry, document preparation, and efficient work execution while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Deputy Clerks are entrusted with handling sensitive and confidential information and must exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism. The position requires the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, adapt to changing demands, and perform a variety of complex duties across all divisions of the Clerk's Office. Successful candidates work collaboratively with coworkers, judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and other members of the court system while maintaining the integrity and efficiency of court operations.
Responsibilities- Assist the public, attorneys, and court personnel with professional, courteous, and respectful service.
- Accurately enter data and prepare documents using computer systems, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Prioritize multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing demands.
- Cooperate with coworkers, judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and other court personnel to ensure efficient court operations.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in a clerk's office, court, or other legal environment.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
