Mary Baldwin University (MBU) is seeking a strategic, student-centered University Registrar to serve as a key academic leader and trusted steward of academic policy, records integrity, and student progress.
Reporting to the President or designee, this role sits at the heart of the academic enterprise—
modernizing systems, strengthening trust, and improving the student experience across residential, health sciences, and online programs.
- Lead academic operations that impact students from admission through degree completion
- Shape policy, systems, and processes at a mission-driven, highly diverse university
- Partner closely with faculty, academic leadership, enrollment, and IT
- Drive modernization while honoring institutional values and culture
- Serve as the University’s chief authority on academic records, registration, grading, and degree conferral
- Interpret and implement academic policy with clarity, consistency, and compliance
- Lead Registrar operations and systems across multiple modalities and locations
- Ensure FERPA compliance and data integrity
- Build and lead a high-performing, student-centered Registrar’s Office team
- 5+ years of progressively responsible Registrar’s Office experience
- Strong knowledge of FERPA, academic policy, and compliance
- Proven leadership in complex academic operations and systems improvement
- Collaborative, equity-minded leader with excellent judgment and communication skills
- Experience with online, graduate, or health sciences programs a plus
