Strategic Sourcing Manager I - NPI
Location:
Hybrid – Staunton, VA.
- Lead sourcing work streams across NPI phase gates, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Lead sourcing strategy and supplier engagement for NPI programs from concept through launch.
- Define and implement optimal procurement methods (e.g., direct, VMI, consignment) to support program objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers in partnership with Corporate Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).
- Gather and validate supplier data on pricing, capacity, and lead times to support planning and decision‑making.
- Collaborate with key suppliers in early design and product development activities to drive cost, quality, and manufacturability.
- Partner with Engineering to support prototype, sample, and pre‑production sourcing requirements.
- Analyze supplier cost structures, market pricing, and value drivers to inform sourcing decisions and negotiations.
- Proactively manage cost, resist price increases, leverage commodity strategies, and conduct market intelligence.
- Review RFQs, evaluate bids, and award business in alignment with budget targets and scope of authority.
- Negotiate commercial terms (cost, lead time, capacity, and agreements) for new production parts while building long‑term supplier relationships.
- Act as escalation point for supply or delivery risks; drive mitigation plans and resolution with suppliers.
- Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve supplier quality issues and drive corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate sourcing and procurement data, including costs, performance metrics, and supplier records.
- Ensure seamless transition of sourcing and supplier ownership to site procurement teams at product launch.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in procurement or related fields; experience with local/regional suppliers and composition of up to five commodity strategies during the last three years.
- CPSM or CIPM certification.
- New Product Development or related fields experience with a wide array of commodities.

The target pay range for this role is $100,000 – $110,000, plus a 10% bonus. The range for all positions in the job grade is $80,400 – $136,800. Individual pay rate will depend on a wide range of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
