Job Overview
Daikin Applied is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist. The EHS Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and administration of the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.
Location & ShiftStaunton, VA – In-Office Shift: 2nd shift
Responsibilities- Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify and address hazards and risks
- Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and training programs
- Support and maintain chemical management documentation, new equipment, and approval processes
- Monitor and analyze EHS data, trends, and metrics to identify areas of improvement and support implementation of corrective actions
- Assist the EHS leader in the preparation of EHS reports, presentations, and in leading EHS committees and teams
- Support and maintain the improvements of EMS (ISO
14001) and SMS (ISO
45001) document control and systems - Conduct or coordinate training to educate employees about safety policies, laws, and best practices
- Assist site supervisors in investigations of incidents and severe incidents to prevent recurrence
- Assist in the collection of samples for different testing analysis (e.g., storm water, chemicals, etc.)
- Assist in the conducting of risk assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies
- Provide EHS technical support for site‑specific initiatives and projects
- Promote Daikin’s goal of zero accidents, emissions, etc.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of related experience
- Taproot and OSHA
30‑hour certification (preferred)
Typical hourly pay ranges from $28.61 to $47.04 in VA.
