Daikin Applied, the world’s largest HVAC company, is hiring a manufacturing technician in Staunton, VA. This role is a 2nd shift (1:50pm–9:50pm) position with a starting wage of $26.24 plus a $2.30 differential.
Your Responsibilities- Demonstrate compliance with all safety rules and PPE requirements.
- Read, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction.
- Work with a variety of materials to complete assigned tasks to meet production requirements.
- Operate various tools and equipment to assemble, test, handle, manipulate and move components, assemblies, and final product.
- Use measuring and testing devices as well as visual inspection to ensure quality of product and conformity to prints, work instructions, and standards with the goal of eliminating internal and external escapes.
- Complete required records, including but not limited to quality checklists and inputs into specified electronic systems.
- Report line issues into the appropriate data collection systems.
- Safely operate equipment required to complete assigned tasks (e.g., charging stations, water jet, evacuation pumps, tuggers, cranes, etc.).
- The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for the majority of the shift, and work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
- The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
- The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- High School Education/GED OR minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
