The Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents, a psychiatric hospital, is seeking experienced nurses to fill the RN II position. Registered Nurses will provide acute psychiatric care for children and adolescents, assess medical and mental health concerns upon admission, report accurate information to psychiatrists, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement medication and treatment plans.

• $15,000 sign‑on bonus awarded to new hires with a one‑year written agreement.
• $10,000 retention bonus paid one year after hire, requiring a one‑year written agreement.

Competitive salaries.

• 1st Shift Weekend: +$5.50/hr
• 2nd Shift Weekday: +$5.50/hr; 2nd Shift Weekend/Holidays: +$6.00/hr
• 3rd Shift Weekday: +$4.00/hr; 3rd Shift Weekend/Holidays: +$7.00/hr

• Effective communication (verbal & written) and ability to participate in an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to lead educational groups and assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, and the physical, psychological, and social needs of adolescent and child patients.
• Competence with TOVA, CPR, and knowledge of lab values for children & adolescents.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to apply specialized nursing knowledge in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
• Ability to act as a resource person communicating nursing process knowledge to other disciplines, community groups, and schools of nursing.
• Physical stamina: walking and/or standing for up to eight (8) hours or more; bending & lifting.
• Ability to use TOVA techniques and to work scheduled shifts and overtime hours or shifts as required.
• May be exposed to aggressive patients.
