Customer Service Associates will welcome customers to Lowe's and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. They will interact with customers throughout the day, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met.
Daily responsibilities may vary by department. Associates work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.
- Welcome customers to Lowe's, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down‑stock merchandise by finding empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
- Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- 6 months experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- 6 months experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
- Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without an accommodation.
- 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bi‑lingual skills.
- Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).
This role does not require regular travel; however, it may require occasional travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
Working ConditionsEnvironmental factors vary by location. Work may occur in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, wet, damp, humid, wind, or drafty conditions. Noise may be constant or intermittent in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary; lifts are limited to 75 pounds for single lifts, with team lifts used where required. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
PayRange
Pay Range: $15.00 - $15.70 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
