Job DutiesThe PCT builds therapeutic relationships and provides trust-building, strength based individualized care that is consistent with the child’s treatment plan, using the least restrictive interventions necessary while upholding the rights and dignity of children and their families at all times. Provides direct care to psychiatric minor patients, and as such this position is considered “essential” and is expected to report as scheduled during emergency events.
Minimum Qualifications- Demonstrated knowledge of child/adolescent development and needs of individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to provide positive statements to individuals served.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to provide direction for activities of daily living for youth in care and instruct children/adolescents in basic hygiene and social skills.
- Ability to observe and describe observations orally and in writing in a manner that is easy to understand and legible.
- Ability to communicate with children/adolescents who have a variety of physical and mental disabilities.
- Ability to interact and intervene verbally and physically in crisis situations.
- Ability to lead and oversee children/adolescents and staff in recreational and social activities.
- CNA License
- Experience in a mental health setting, healthcare, or related setting
- Coursework or degree in human service field
- Demonstrated experience with children and/or adolescents
- Bilingual
- Veteran
