Come be a part of Santiam Hospital & Clinics dedicated Revenue Cycle department as our new Single Billing Office Specialist (SBO). In this crucial role, you will be on the front lines of customer relations, resolving complex patient billing inquiries, and guiding individuals through financial assistance applications in strict compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Position Type:
Full-time, 40 hours/week, Non-Exempt, On-Site. Salary Range: $20.00 - $29.37
- Through collaboration with Revenue Cycle Department staff members who perform SBO functions, participate in Department activity that related to SBO operations and customer relations.
- Attend to work queue tasks as assigned by SBO lead.
- Through coordination with applicable collection agencies, assist with conversion of applicable patient accounts from receivable to bad debt.
- Promptly and appropriately respond to queries submitted via the Hospital health information management system to SBO Staff.
- Facilitate and process Hospital patient participation in applicable Hospital financial assistance programs, while ensuring that state and federal requirements for such participation are continuously met.
- Assist with outer routine SBO process (e.g. which might relate to daily deposits, returned mail or patient bad debt or bankruptcy.
- Knowledge of principles that relate to patient accounts, including pertinent medical insurance terminology
- Aptitude of verbal and written communication, including ability to communicate with people from all age groups
- Possession of United States proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States
- Possession of a driver license of analogous identification
- Willingness to participate in Hospital orientation and educational in-service
