POSITION: Quality Assurance & Research Intern
LOCATION: Red Built LLC - Stayton Plant
Hourly Rate: $28.60

, safety comes first—ALWAYS. We design and manufacture high-quality engineered wood products that support communities across the country. As we continue to grow, we are currently looking for a Quality Assurance & Research summer intern. This internship offers hands on experience in quality assurance, industry research, and process improvement. Interns will work directly with the QA Supervisor on real-world projects involving product testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
The internship will culminate in a final project presented to plant leadership.
- Learn the manufacturing process and plant quality systems
- Support research and continuous improvement projects related to product quality and process control
- Assist in designing, conducting, and documenting technical research projects
- Perform routine QA testing on raw materials and finished products
- Monitor manufacturing processes and identify potential improvement opportunities
- Gain experience with manufacturing standards and QA procedures
- Complete and present an independent research or continuous improvement project at the end of the internship
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Basic data analysis and computer skills (Excel required, database or Python experience is a plus)
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a technical field
- Self-motivated, able to work independently on assigned tasks
- Math and statistics skills/understanding
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Physically able to manipulate heavy and/or awkward test material/equipment
- Familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Pursuing a degree in Wood Science, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
- Previous work experience in a lab
- Project management experience
- Any experience in computer programming
