Description

As a senior member of the branch sales/leadership team, the primary responsibilities for this position will be to understand the financial needs of our Members and provide the appropriate advice and recommendations to fit their needs. This will include offering large or complex credit and investment advice as well as proactively identifying and promoting opportunities for Meridian products and services. In this role the Financial Services Advisor will be responsible for meeting and exceeding specific individual and team-based business goals, managing Member portfolios, building and developing relationships with Members, and positioning Meridian’s products and services to add value to Member financial well‑being.

    • Provides investment advice by identifying and promoting solutions that fit Member needs.
    • Assesses credit products within approval limits or provides recommendations based on thorough interviewing and underwriting skills.
    • Engages in revenue generation and sales activities to achieve performance objectives.
    • Opens new Member accounts using account opening strategies.
    • Possesses mutual fund accreditation and maintains knowledge of economic and market conditions.
    • Builds external centres of influence to optimize sales and service results.
    • Uses Meridian tools to identify and promote opportunities to deepen relationships and provide seamless service experiences.
    • Embraces virtual technology platforms for meetings and communication with Members.
    • Earns the right to ask for business and drive new referrals to appropriate partners in Retail Wealth, Small Business and Commercial.
    • Resolves problems at the first point of contact and refers complex concerns to appropriate staff.
    • Balances and processes daily work per compliance, audit, policies and procedures.
    • Works with Branch leadership to champion and implement corporate strategies and programs.
    • Maintains discretion and confidentiality respecting Members’ privacy.
    • Demonstrates excellent listening and strong consultative skills.
    • Removes systemic barriers to exceptional Member Experience.
    • Contributes to continuous enhancement of Member Experience leveraging Voice of Employee.
  • Community Experience
    • Participates and executes community engagement plan.
    • Promotes Meridian Credit Union in the community through events while demonstrating Company Values.
    • Supports local community organizations and activities through Business Development and Good Neighbour Program.
    • Plans, prepares, and delivers Meridian hosted Community events.
