Overview Commercial Analyst will be responsible for assisting our Relationship Managers, Commercial Services through direct member contact. You will be part of our team to grow the size and profitability of the commercial book while minimizing loan risk and maximizing product penetration.
What you will do Supporting our Relationship Managers, Commercial Services through analysis of financial and account operating data and recommending appropriate courses of action for credit related matters.
Understanding member needs after discussions with the Relationship Manager and independently writing a lending proposal detailing both the financial and non-financial parameters important to decision making.
Managing routine account operating issues encountered by our commercial members, anticipating/recognizing members’ needs, and proactively making product and service recommendations.
Liaising with other Meridian staff and outside product/service suppliers to meet the needs of our members.
Establishing personal goals and action plans to support the Business Banking Centre and Retail branch business objectives, with some community involvement required.
Demonstrating willingness to assume higher degrees of accountability and responsibility, leading to potential advancement to a Relationship Manager, Commercial Services role.
Actively monitors and manages the profitability of Meridian’s relationship with a member to retain and grow the business.
Keeps abreast of changes within diverse industry sectors and proactively identifies opportunities to improve growth and development of the assigned portfolio by analyzing member needs, trends, and competitor offerings.
Qualifications and success factors Post-secondary education or related training with knowledge of financial accounting and lending principles (Bachelor of Commerce, Business, Finance & Accounting, or similar degrees would be an asset).
Good working knowledge of banking systems and business account operating procedures ellent communication/presentation, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently with confidence and strong commitment to member service.
Willingness to work flexible hours and to train on/off the job to improve general business and lending skills.
Strong personal commitment to professional development.
Demonstrates the ability to manage increasingly complex workloads.
Demonstrates organizational values through leadership and personal behaviors.
Salary and location Salary Range: CAD $52,000 - $70,000 annually. Compensation is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. More information about the total rewards package will be provided during the hiring process.
