About the Job
The Project Manager will report to the Manager of Capital Projects, and be part of the Energy & Technical Services team based in Niagara Falls. You will be working in collaboration with Health & Safety, Environmental Performance, Sales, Marketing, Operations & Contractors to deliver a variety of projects that have complex mechanical components, but that also include heavy civil and commercial building components, constructed to support our growing operations base throughout Ontario and other locations across Canada.

Salary Range is between $90,000 – $100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Be Doing

Pre-approval input including general project scope development with the input of sales and operations, engagement with third party engineering for initial designs, creation of budgets/estimating/costing of the work and coordination with corporate financial services to model to ensure projects meet the appropriate hurdle criteria for consideration by the Board of Directors.

After approved, you will have oversight and responsibility to deliver the project in accordance with the technical specifications and within the time, scope and budgetary requirements.

Preparation of bid packages, guide tendering and sub-contractor/trade selection process.

Lead procurement and material control activities.

Negotiation and review of legal contracts, assisted by the Manager of Capital Projects, General Manager, Energy & Tech Services along with internal and external counsel as needed.

Monitor and regularly report on the progress of each project as it relates to financial performance and corporate objectives.

Schedule and coordinate resources and field services to ensure projects are completed on schedule and specifications are adhered to.

Adjudicate changes to the scope, schedule or budget of the project and follow established protocols for formal changes to the project.

Develop, monitor and maintain positive relationships with partners, suppliers, contractors, consultants, clients and prospects to ensure operations run smoothly, resolve concerns promptly and efficiently, and develop potential future business opportunities.

Liaise with municipalities and government regulatory agencies as required and secure permits/approvals.

Here’s What You Need

10 years of project management experience with a large GC or Mechanical Contracting firm. Mechanical Experience

Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent combination of post-secondary school education and hands-on experience with demonstrated competency in core areas. PMP an asset.

A valid G driver’s licence and willingness to travel within working hours to various work sites on a regular basis and/or occasionally overnight.

Above average competence with MS Office Suite of products including Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Oracle is an asset.

Thorough knowledge of all disciplines of construction (engineering, estimating, scheduling, contracting and H&S)

Demonstrated ability to plan, oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously. While managing competing priorities in a fast paced environment
