Marine Welder at Ontario Shipyards

Location: St. Catharines

Make your mark as a Marine Welder with Ontario Shipyards located in Port Weller. This full-time role focuses on high-quality welding practices essential for the marine industry, all within a dynamic shipyard environment.

In this position, you'll be responsible for executing precise welds on metal components critical to vessel repair and maintenance. Reporting to the Welding Supervisor, your work will require collaboration with other skilled trades, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring project requirements are met. The role emphasizes a commitment to quality and attention to detail in a physically demanding setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow stringent safety guidelines for all operations

• Inspect equipment for safe working conditions

• Weld steel structures following defined processes

• Read and apply blueprints and fabrication drawings

• Document work accurately to support quality control

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on welding experience

• Previous CWB certification is beneficial

• Experience in ship repair desirable

• Knowledge of overhead crane operation is a plus

• Ability to navigate challenging shipyard conditions
