Overview
Fox Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to manage the financial backbone of our high-end residential and commercial construction projects. You will oversee pay applications, job costing, accounts payable, and project closeout documentation, ensuring financial accuracy from project kickoff through final completion. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, utilizing Sage 100 Contractor as our core accounting platform.

- Prepare, review, and process construction pay applications, including final billings
- Build and maintain electronic draw files and Excel-based reconciliations
- Track lien waivers and ensure proper documentation prior to payment
- Enter all job-related invoices into Sage 100 Contractor
- Review subcontractor and vendor invoices for sales tax compliance and contract requirements
- Code and route invoices for Project Manager approval
- Assist Project Managers with project forecasting and cost tracking
- Track subcontracts and maintain insurance certificate compliance
- Code and enter overhead invoices into Sage 100 Contractor
- Process overhead and project-related payments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records
- Reconcile accounts payable and company credit card statements
- Prepare and assemble project closeout documentation, including owners’ manuals
- Archive project documentation in accordance with company standards
- Maintain project contact lists and assist with subcontractor bid solicitation
- Organize and archive bids on the company server
- Download, organize, and archive project photos (Company Cam) and daily logs (Raken)
- Type and distribute three-week project schedules
- Provide general office and project administrative support as needed
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of dedicated construction accounting experience required
- Experience with Sage 100 Contractor strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction pay applications, job costing, and lien waivers
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Colorado Notary Public preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project teams
- $75,000+ annual salary, based on experience
