We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team!

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will independently manage key project-engineering functions on complex commercial construction projects while working closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, design team, subcontractors, and other project partners. You will help drive project coordination, documentation, procurement, and quality while serving as a resource and mentor to Project Engineers and interns.

Job Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Documentation

  • Independently manage project-engineering responsibilities for assigned scopes.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, field personnel, and internal teams.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, change documentation, project logs, and other key project information.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to support field execution and resolve coordination issues.
  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in maintaining project schedules and key milestones.
  • Manage assigned subcontractor scopes, including coordination, procurement, documentation, cost tracking, and billing support.
  • Assist with subcontract preparation, subcontractor change orders, and owner change documentation.
  • Track materials, equipment, and long-lead items and communicate potential schedule or cost impacts.
  • Support project cost management and coordinate with subcontractors to resolve scope, procurement, and project-information needs.

Quality, Safety & Field Support

  • Support project quality-control activities and review work for compliance with plans, specifications, and approved submittals.
  • Assist with inspections, mock-ups, punch activities, and resolution of deficient work.
  • Participate in project site walks and support Haselden’s safety expectations.
  • Identify and communicate quality, design, coordination, procurement, and documentation issues that could impact project execution.

Team Development

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to Project Engineers and interns.
  • Communicate clear expectations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Model strong communication, accountability, collaboration, and Haselden’s values.

Job Requirements

  • Approximately 5 years of progressive construction experience with a general contractor or similar organization.
  • Commercial construction experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage project-engineering responsibilities and competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, procurement, change management, project documentation, and quality-control processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other construction‑management applications is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered.
  • Ability to mentor and support the development of Project Engineers and interns.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in office and active construction‑site environments.
  • Ability to regularly walk project sites, including stairs and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work around construction noise, dust, changing temperatures, and weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and meetings.

The salary range for this position is $87,000-$95,000…
