As a Loan Service Specialist, you provide administrative support to our Loans Department. Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, a team-oriented focus, and a desire to learn and grow with a professional organization.

$21.00+ per hour
, depending on experience.

Requirements Summary of Duties

The Loan Service Specialist is responsible for fulfilling a variety of administrative duties for the Loan Department including: collecting and maintaining required records and documentation for Commercial, Construction and Consumer Loan Files; providing support to maintain compliance with applicable laws; working with the loan department staff to ensure a low level of loan department errors and losses. This position is also responsible for scanning duties for the Loan Department including: scanning paper documents so that all information is visible on the digital image of the text;

analyzing the information on the document in order to file it in the correct location with the proper identifiers; indexing the image so that the document is in the proper location and is easily retrievable

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administrative Duties
  • Maintain effective verbal and written communication with borrowers, vendors, and YVB staff to ensure loan compliance with the terms of agreements such as deeds of trust, certificates of title, flood certification, credit reporting, UCC lien searches, and insurance policies.
  • Verify accuracy of loan records through daily audit and analysis of loan data.
  • Resolve loan servicing issues through research and follow-up. Document activities and results.
  • Maintain current knowledge of servicing mechanics, procedures, rule changes and regulatory guideline changes.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements to the AVP/Loan Administration and CRA Officer.
Document Imaging
  • Receive, prepare, scan, and index files in a manner that maintains the integrity of the documents.
  • Ensure privacy and integrity of all documents.
  • Properly file, route, or dispose of hard copy files.
  • Perform quality checks as needed.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize daily workload.
  • Provide input into the development and revision of scanning policies and procedures; communicate suggestions to the AVP/Loan Administration and CRA Officer.
Qualifications
  • High School degree.
  • At least one year of experience in a professional environment.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with the public and co-workers.
  • Has computer skills including sufficient/detailed knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and General Ledger accounting, and/or the ability to quickly learn these and other proprietary or bank-specific programs and models.
  • Able to produce and organize written and electronic documents with minimal supervision or review.
  • Able to understand and abide by all Bank policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Possesses good organizational, multi-tasking, analytical, and oral & written communication skills.
  • Able to maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of bank related duties in order to direct customers to appropriate areas of the bank.
  • Must excel in customer service, either in person or by phone.
  • Effectively listens to customers and is able to discern the customers’ needs.
  • Displays professional/mature judgment and style and takes ownership of personal performance and development.
  • Personally maintains and fosters positive attitudes as well as YVB Core Values of Trust, Service, Value and Integrity among employees, clients, prospects and shareholders.
  • Willing to learn new skills and functions within the bank
