Minimum Requirements- Completed SAICA traineeship
- Minimum of a completed tertiary qualification in Accounting
- Excellent knowledge of ISA’s
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS for SMEs
- Tax experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to successfully lead an audit team
- Ability to effectively plan and execute audits
- Advanced computer skills
- Case Ware experience
1. Engagement Management
- Manage and monitor the Assignment Completion List to ensure the timely delivery of all engagements.
- Plan and schedule audits, independent reviews (IR), trusts, and individual engagements, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee the audit team on a day-to-day basis, providing guidance and ensuring work progresses according to plan.
- Review and finalise audit, IR, trust, and individual files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain and manage assigned client and staff portfolios.
- Attend to client consultations and queries, maintaining regular and effective liaison with the Director on technical and client matters.
2. Training and Development
- Provide structured training to trainees, both individually and in group sessions.
- Mentor and develop trainee accountants to enhance technical competence and professional growth.
3. Administrative Responsibilities
- Monitor trainee productivity through regular review of timesheets and job allocations.
- Manage engagement budgets and obtain client approval before commencing assignments.
- Prepare and review fee sheets to ensure accurate billing.
- Conduct trainee performance assessments and provide developmental feedback.
- Assist with SAICA and IRBA review processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform general administrative and practice management responsibilities as required.
4. Ad Hoc and Leadership Responsibilities
- Participate in general group planning and resource allocation.
- Identify and address potential problems proactively to mitigate risk.
- Motivate trainees and foster a positive team culture and morale.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Promote and maintain healthy professional relationships within the team.
