Luxury Fine Dining Restaurant | Cape Winelands

The Role

As Commis Chef, you will support your section in the preparation and execution of refined, seasonal tasting menus. You will be expected to learn quickly, work cleanly and uphold the highest culinary standards at all times. This role is about foundation: knife skills, organisation, discipline and respect for process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with mise en place and daily preparation for service
  • Execute assigned tasks with accuracy and care
  • Maintain impeccable hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
  • Follow recipes and plating specifications precisely
  • Support senior chefs during service
  • Ensure stock is stored and rotated correctly
  • Uphold food safety standards at all times
What We’re Looking For
  • A formal culinary qualification
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a professional kitchen (fine dining preferred)
  • Strong knife skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
  • A genuine desire to learn and grow
  • Respectful, team‑oriented attitude
  • Professional presentation and work ethic
