About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Geoscientist with a focus on Exploration to join their team in Stellenbosch . This role is integral to identifying and evaluating potential new energy resource opportunities. You will be responsible for interpreting geological and geophysical data, performing basin analysis, and contributing to exploration strategy development. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team of geologists, geophysicists, and engineers, utilizing advanced technologies and methodologies to de-risk exploration ventures.

- Interpret seismic, well log, and other geological/geophysical data.
- Conduct geological mapping and basin analysis to identify prospective areas.
- Develop and refine exploration models and play concepts.
- Collaborate with geophysicists and engineers on prospect evaluation and risking.
- Utilize geological software for data visualization and interpretation.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of exploration programs and drilling campaigns.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in energy exploration , with a strong understanding of basin analysis and petroleum systems.
- Proficiency in seismic interpretation and geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
- Experience with data integration and uncertainty assessment in exploration.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex geological information.
