Telecommunications Technician - Network Installation

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proficient Telecommunications Technician to join their team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including network cabling, fiber optics, and related hardware. This role requires technical expertise in network systems and the ability to work on-site to ensure reliable connectivity for clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering high-quality network solutions.

• Install, terminate, and test network cabling (Ethernet, Fiber Optic) in commercial and residential environments.
• Set up and configure telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and modems.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
• Read and interpret network diagrams and installation schematics.
• Ensure all installations adhere to industry standards and company best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure and performed work.

• Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or Network Installer.
• Knowledge of structured cabling systems, fiber optics, and network hardware.
• Proficiency with cable testing equipment (e.g., network testers, OTDRs).
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the region.
