Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician to join their team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications networks, including fiber optic and copper cabling systems, and associated hardware. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable connectivity for businesses and residential clients across the region. • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues and equipment malfunctions.
• Perform routine maintenance on telecommunications equipment and systems.
• Read and interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Manage tools, equipment, and inventory effectively on job sites.
• Ensure all installations and repairs meet industry standards and client requirements.

• Experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role is required.
• Strong understanding of fiber optics, copper cabling, and network infrastructure principles.
• Proficiency with testing equipment such as OTDRs, light meters, and network analyzers.
• Ability to work independently and manage project timelines.
• Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Western Cape .
