About the Role
Our client requires an experienced and safety-focused Drilling Supervisor to oversee their exploration and production drilling operations in the Stellenbosch region. This hands-on role involves managing drilling crews, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of drilling rigs, and maintaining equipment to the highest standards. You will be responsible for adhering to drilling plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality control of geological samples.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of drilling techniques, and an unwavering commitment to safety protocols, contributing to the successful execution of vital resource exploration initiatives.
- Supervise and direct drilling crews, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and operational plans.
- Monitor drilling progress, performance, and equipment status, making necessary adjustments.
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of drilling rigs, tools, and associated equipment.
- Oversee the collection, logging, and handling of geological samples and core data.
- Manage inventory of drilling supplies and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks with the drilling team.
- Proven experience as a Drilling Supervisor or in a senior drilling operations role.
- Strong understanding of various drilling methods (e.g., diamond drilling, reverse circulation).
- Excellent knowledge of drilling equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
