About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations for their facilities near Stellenbosch . This crucial role ensures the optimal performance and longevity of all mining equipment and plant machinery through effective planning, execution, and supervision of maintenance activities. You will lead a team of skilled technicians, driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including mechanics, electricians, and artisans.
- Develop and implement preventative and corrective maintenance schedules for mining equipment and plant machinery.
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of necessary components.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and foster professional development within the maintenance team.
- Trade qualification (e.g., Fitter and Turner, Electrician) or National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
- Proven experience with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to mining equipment.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
