About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Aircraft Structural Mechanic to join their team in Stellenbosch. This role involves performing inspections, repairs, and modifications to the airframe structure of various aircraft, ensuring their continued airworthiness and safety. You will work with a variety of materials, including composites and metals, utilizing precision tools and techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on mechanic to apply their expertise in structural repair and contribute to the maintenance of a diverse aircraft fleet within a reputable aviation organization.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct visual and non-destructive inspections of aircraft structures to identify damage, corrosion, or fatigue.
- Perform repairs and modifications to aircraft structures using approved procedures, including metal bonding, riveting, and composite repair techniques.
- Interpret structural repair manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings to guide repair actions.
- Fabricate and install structural components as required.
- Document all repair work performed, including materials used and compliance with technical data.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with aviation safety regulations and company standards.
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Structural Mechanic or Sheet Metal Worker.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft structural materials, repair techniques, and related tools.
- Ability to read and interpret structural repair manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in metal fabrication, riveting, and composite repair.
- Hold relevant certifications or have completed recognized training programs in aircraft structural repair.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
