About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent Installation Technician specializing in Telecommunications to join their team in Stellenbosch . This role is focused on the deployment and setup of communication infrastructure, including fiber optic cables, network hardware, and related equipment for residential and commercial clients. You will be responsible for ensuring that installations are completed efficiently, professionally, and to the highest technical standards.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong technical skills in cabling and networking, and enjoys working autonomously in the field. This position is crucial for expanding network reach and ensuring reliable connectivity for customers in the rapidly growing Stellenbosch area.
- Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and network cabling infrastructure.
- Set up and configure telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, and other network devices.
- Perform site surveys and plan installation routes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and site requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation-related issues to ensure optimal network performance.
- Provide basic customer support and education on installed systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, including site maps and equipment configurations.
- Proven experience as an Installation Technician , specifically within the telecommunications or IT networking sector.
- Strong understanding of fiber optics, copper cabling, and network hardware installation.
- Proficiency with cable testing equipment and network diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation manuals.
- Good physical condition and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces when necessary.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
