About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation Technician to support critical Energy Infrastructure operations in Stellenbosch . This role involves the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of complex instrumentation and control systems essential for the safe and efficient operation of power generation and distribution facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurement and control devices, playing a crucial part in maintaining operational integrity.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician to apply their expertise in a challenging and vital sector, contributing to the stability of the energy supply.
- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair a wide range of industrial instrumentation , including pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in instrumentation and control loops, utilizing test equipment and diagnostic software.
- Perform preventative maintenance on critical instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Work with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for system monitoring and configuration.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company standards during all maintenance activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and assist engineers with system modifications.
- National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in an industrial or power generation environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, and instrument loop diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with various instrumentation types and calibration equipment.
- Familiarity with control system hardware and software, including DCS and PLC systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
