Millwright Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright Technician to join their industrial maintenance team in Paarl . This role is crucial for ensuring the operational readiness and efficiency of various manufacturing and processing machinery. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex mechanical equipment, including rotating machinery, conveyors, and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to upholding safety standards in a dynamic industrial setting.

• Install, align, and maintain industrial machinery, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and processing equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques for effective repair.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints , schematics, and technical manuals.
• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as required for equipment repair and modification.
• Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

• Qualified Millwright with recognized trade certification.
• Proven experience in industrial mechanical maintenance and installation.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including power transmission, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and maintenance documentation.
• Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools, as well as measurement instruments.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is highly desirable.
