About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to join their busy workshop in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . You will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring they meet all safety and performance standards. This hands-on role requires a deep understanding of heavy-duty vehicle systems and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Your expertise will be vital in keeping our client's transportation operations running smoothly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring the reliability of their fleet.
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical systems of commercial vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake adjustments.
- Repair and replace faulty components and parts as needed, using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Ensure all work is performed to industry standards and company safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle.
- Advise the fleet manager on necessary repairs and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Qualified Commercial Vehicle Mechanic with relevant trade certifications (e.g., NQF Level 3 or higher).
- Proven experience working on heavy-duty trucks, buses, or other commercial vehicles.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and specialized tools for vehicle repair.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in commercial vehicles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a workshop environment.
- A valid driver's license is required;
Code 10 or higher preferred.
