Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Our client is looking for an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join their vital maintenance team serving Paarl, Western Cape and surrounding areas. This role is critical for ensuring the operational integrity of refrigeration systems in commercial settings such as supermarkets, restaurants, and food processing plants. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of complex refrigeration units, guaranteeing food safety and business continuity for clients.

• Install, service, and repair commercial refrigeration units, including walk-in coolers, freezers, and display cases.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to optimize system performance and prevent costly breakdowns.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system issues, including refrigerant leaks and electrical faults.
• Interpret schematics and technical manuals to guide repair and installation processes.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards related to refrigerant handling.
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls to minimize downtime for clients.

• Proven experience as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical components, and control systems.
• Proficiency in handling refrigerants and operating specialized diagnostic tools.
• Relevant trade certifications or licenses are highly desirable.
