Position Overview

Staxmatic is hiring an experienced Mechanical HVAC Foreman to lead field mechanical and HVAC construction activities on a dedicated commercial project in Texas. This hands‑on foreman role is responsible for the full lifecycle of field execution on a single assigned job site, overseeing commercial HVAC and mechanical system installation, crew supervision, safety compliance, and schedule performance. The position involves HVAC equipment installation, ductwork fabrication and installation, hydronic piping, chilled water systems, VRF systems, air handling units, fan coil units, exhaust fans, controls rough‑in, and system start‑up and commissioning activities.

The Mechanical HVAC Foreman works closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and other trades to ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality and code standards. This is a 100% on‑site commercial construction role in Texas for a foreman who thrives on running one project at a time, building a strong crew, and seeing the job through all phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise commercial mechanical and HVAC crews through all phases of construction, including rough‑in, equipment installation, piping, ductwork, and system start‑up
  • Apply mechanical and HVAC knowledge to review drawings, develop material takeoffs, and create field layouts and sketches to support installation activities
  • Oversee installation of HVAC systems including ductwork, hydronic piping, chilled water systems, VRF systems, air handling units, fan coil units, exhaust fans, and mechanical equipment
  • Support controls rough‑in, BAS coordination, and system commissioning and start‑up activities
  • Drive daily production by planning mechanical activities, loading manpower, and aligning crews, tools, and equipment with the construction schedule
  • Coordinate work with other trades, project management, and general contractors
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical blueprints, equipment submittals, and specifications
  • Maintain control of materials, deliveries, staging areas, and tool inventory to prevent delays and rework
  • Provide installation direction through verbal instruction, sketches, and field walkthroughs
  • Enforce company and OSHA job site safety standards and respond to incidents as needed
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure work meets contract documents, mechanical codes, and inspection requirements
  • Work alongside the Superintendent to plan upcoming work and contribute mechanical input to the 3–6 week lookahead
  • Assist with tracking and updating RFIs, submittals, and as‑built documentation based on field progress
  • Step in with tools when needed to address critical path work, support mechanical crews, or maintain schedule commitments
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of commercial mechanical or HVAC field experience, including at least 2 years in a foreman or lead role
  • Hands‑on experience with HVAC system installation, ductwork fabrication and installation, hydronic piping, and mechanical equipment installation
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical blueprints, equipment submittals, and project specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crews, meet deadlines, and maintain high safety and quality standards on commercial job sites
  • OSHA 10 certification required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Daily work on active commercial construction job sites in Texas
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work at heights
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs as required
  • Use of required PPE at all times on job sites
