Job Summary

The Delivery Coordinator will assign company truck drivers for the delivery of product by performing the duties below.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan an efficient delivery and pick‑up route by assigning trucks according to factors such as length and purpose of the trip, freight requirements and capacity, and preference of delivery method.
  • Estimate date and time of delivery to customer.
  • Record time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
  • Monitor equipment utilization and productivity.
  • Issue keys, record sheets, and bills of lading/invoice copies to drivers.
  • Investigate overdue vehicles and deliveries.
  • Interface with customers and other employees to expedite loads or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
  • Assist customers in resolving complaints, escalating them to management when appropriate.
  • Maintain records of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.
  • Assign helpers to drivers if needed.
  • Operate cash register, when necessary, accurately and efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Operate a forklift when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to plan delivery routes.
  • Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MAC
    21 and other related software.
  • Ability to operate available equipment such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Have a current driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Successful completion of on‑the‑job training; completing levels 1 and 2 of the positional training offered.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working on the computer or related equipment.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds at times; occasionally lift/move up to 80 pounds; push and/or pull 50‑pound loads.
  • Use the three‑point hold when getting into trucks and/or forklifts.
  • May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform repetitive movements over long periods.
  • Work in various types of weather.
