Sr. Internal Audit Manager

Position Summary

We are looking for a CPA with 5+ years of progressive audit experience to lead complex internal audit projects, with a specific focus on SOX compliance and/or SOC 1 engagements
. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who possesses a deep understanding of internal control frameworks and has a proven track record of navigating complex data sets to draw actionable conclusions. This role requires a hands‑on leader who can manage multiple projects, maintain composure under pressure, and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.

Audit Execution & Compliance:

• Lead and execute the annual SOX 404 compliance program, including scoping, risk assessment, control mapping, testing of design and operating effectiveness, and deficiency evaluation.
• Manage or support SOC 1 (or SOC
  2) engagements, coordinating with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of service auditor reports.
• Perform independent risk‑based internal audits across various business functions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and define key issues during audits; conduct root cause analysis and present pragmatic recommendations to mitigate risks.

Data Analysis & Critical Thinking:

• Collect, analyze, and synthesize complex financial and operational data to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and information systems.
• Apply sound management principles and prefer business practices to assess process gaps and control weaknesses.
• Draw logical conclusions based on evidence and provide actionable insights to senior management.

Project Management & Leadership:

• Manage project timelines effectively, ensuring all audit phases (planning, fieldwork, reporting, and remediation tracking) are completed on schedule.
• Maintain composure and deliver high‑quality work under pressure, effectively managing competing priorities and strict regulatory deadlines.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance on audit procedures and professional development.
• Build strong relationships with process owners and business leaders to facilitate open communication and drive control consciousness across the organization.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (master's degree preferred).

• 5+ years of progressive experience in internal audit, public accounting, or a combination thereof.
• Strong experience in internal audits is mandatory.
• Preferred:
  Demonstrable experience in SOX compliance (including Sections 302 and 404) and/or SOC 1 engagements (or SOC
  2) is highly desirable.

• Advanced proficiency in auditing and accounting principles (GAAP) and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Proven capability in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large, complex data sets (proficiency with data analytics tools and/or ERP systems is a plus).
• Experience with audit management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
