Job Description
The Chaldean Community Foundation (CCF) improves the stability, health, and wellness of those we serve through advocacy, acculturation, community development and cultural preservation.
The Chaldean Community Foundation is seeking enthusiastic, certified elementary teachers for its summer program, with positions available in Sterling Heights and West Bloomfield. Teachers will lead high-quality instruction in math, ELA, and enrichment using the Lavinia RISE curriculum.
This five-week program will run from June 22–July 24, 2026, operating Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Teachers will participate in three days of pre-program training and are encouraged to attend weekly 60-minute professional development sessions throughout the program.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality daily instruction in math, ELA, and enrichment using the Lavinia RISE curriculum.
- Create an engaging, supportive classroom environment that promotes strong learning habits and positive behavior.
- Collaborate with program staff, attend required pre-program training, and participate in weekly professional development.
- Ensure student safety and supervision during academic blocks, transitions, meals, and enrichment activities.
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment data, and other required documentation.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Strong instructional skills in elementary math and ELA.
- Ability to deliver structured, research-based curriculum.
- Effective classroom management and student engagement.
- Clear communication and strong collaboration skills.
- Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required.
- Prior experience teaching in an elementary classroom setting preferred.
- Experience with structured literacy or math intervention programs preferred.
- Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods during instruction and program activities.
- Frequent movement around the classroom and program spaces, including walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to lift or carry instructional materials and supplies up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to operate standard office and classroom equipment.
