Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time Special Education Teacher position focuses on providing specialized instruction to elementary students in kindergarten and 1st grade with autism. The role is onsite in Sterling Heights, MI, and requires expertise in special education and autism support.

Key Qualifications and Experience
  • Valid Michigan Special Education License
  • Certification as an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Certified Teacher
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially K-1st grade
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and evidence-based autism interventions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialized instructional services tailored to students with autism in early elementary grades
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Use data-driven strategies to assess student progress and adjust teaching approaches
  • Collaborate with parents, therapists, and school staff to ensure comprehensive support
  • Maintain detailed documentation and compliance with state and district policies
