Summary: The instructor for Business, Management & Administration, Finance and Marketing is responsible for leading the instructional program and implementing activities for high school students working toward careers in a chosen area of study. The instructor is responsible for meeting the unique needs of the students assigned to the program and preparing students for careers in Business, Management & Administration, Finance and Marketing professions.
Certification(s):
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with (or willingness to obtain) GQ and VM (or GX and VM, or GM and VM) endorsements
OR
Valid Michigan CTE Certificate with ANY of the following CIP Endorsements:
- Business Administration Management & Operations 52.0299
- Finance 52.0800
- Marketing, Sales and Service 52.1999
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to interact positively with and motivate students
- Exceptional instructional technology skills
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices
- Ability to withstand the strain of teaching
- Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. Regular and dependable presence during school hours is essential.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all state and local CTE compliance requirements
- Provide leadership and innovation in maintenance of current CTE programs, as well as in the expansion of additional CTE programs
- Build a classroom environment that supports all students through whole group, small group and one on one instruction
- Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
- Ability to use data to support student learning and motivation
- Work closely with district CTE coordinator
- Continue to build connections with local businesses to support the districts increasing focus on partnerships in support of students careers and life’s passions
- Be passionate about building and strengthening a CTE program that supports students career pathways
- Complete CIP Self-Reviews annually
- Provide leadership/CTSO experiences for all students
- Such alternatives to the above responsibilities as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable
This position is classified as Exempt
Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.
Ability to withstand the strains and successfully manage the responsibilities of the position.
Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. Regular and dependable presence during school hours is essential.

Two Weeks Paid Parental Leave
Selected candidates will be required to have a district paid fingerprint criminal history check processed through the Michigan State Police and FBI.
