Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan

Job Type: Contract

Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9-5, onsite.

Pay Range: $34 - 36 Per hour

About the Role

Position Summary

  • We are seeking a motivated and analytical Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing operations through labor analysis, productivity improvement, ergonomic evaluation, and capacity planning. This role is fully onsite and works closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and support Ford OS behaviors:
    Excellence, Focus, and Collaboration.
  • What You’ll Do
  • Develop and implement direct and indirect labor standards and work methods
  • Track and analyze labor performance, including RTOs, off-standard work, efficiencies
    , and more
  • Prepare presentations and documentation to support labor authorization requests
  • Lead efficiency improvement initiatives
    , workstation rebalances, and process optimization projects
  • Conduct job ergonomics evaluations and assist with workstation and packaging design reviews
  • Analyze process constraints, perform equipment cycle time studies, and support constraint working groups
  • Review and recommend improvements to plant processes, layouts, routing, and material handling flows
  • Perform time studies
    , including Time & Motion,
    MODAPTS
    , and GSPAS evaluations
  • Ensure accurate process documentation in APT and other time study systems
  • Create headcount maps, support methodization, and manage process allocations
  • Partner with Production Supervisors and the UAW to resolve operational concerns
  • Monitor and report on cycle times
    , line efficiencies, uptime, HPU, and JPH metrics
  • Update and maintain glidepath files, capacity strategy documents, volume worksheets, and related planning tools
  • Support cost estimates related to changes in methods, labor, or process standards
  • Assist with annual budget inputs and forecasting for manning, RTO, capacity, and demand
  • Perform basic 2D CAD modeling for workstation planning and changes
  • Participate in benchmarking activities and other special assignments
  • Lead cross-functional teams on complex projects and act as a positive change agent across the operation
Qualifications

  • Productivity and constraint analysis
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrates Ford OS behaviors
  • Preferred Skills
  • MODAPTS certification or experience
  • Ford Ergo analysis tools
  • GSPAS / APT systems
  • AutoCAD or 2D layout drawing experience
  • Education
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree required
  • Preferred Experience & Education
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
