- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- 7+ years of experience developing and releasing technical designs on a vehicle program level is required
- Experience taking designs from concept to physical hardware and overseeing subsystem/system‑level integration
- Experience developing structural hardware; welding knowledge preferred
- Experience with RCAA (Root Cause & Corrective Action)
- Proficient in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Familiarity with Teamcenter is preferred
- Must be proficient with CAD modeling techniques: specifically CAD software packages - VIS, Siemens NX and/or Creo
- Must be proficient with MS Office applications
Insight Global is looking for a Structural Engineer in the Sterling Heights, Michigan area. The Structure Engineer position is a product design and development engineering role within the Structures Engineering Group. This team is responsible for the design, development, verification, and implementation of Hull and Turret structural components across all vehicle platforms. The engineer will develop hardware concepts using CAD tools, collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams, and ensure designs meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities include maturing concepts to production‑ready designs, overseeing model and print releases, supporting manufacturing during fabrication and integration, and assisting with testing and verification activities. The engineer will also support RCCA efforts to resolve technical issues on prototype and production hardware.
- Operating within cross-functional teams supporting program deliverables related to technical requirements, cost and schedule
- Developing detail hardware concepts using CAD modeling tools and ensuring developed concepts meet all technical requirements
- Collaborating with engineering peers within the project team to ensure developed concepts support a balanced system level approach that achieves the necessary performance requirements
- Collaborating with drafting personnel in maturing design concepts to a production-ready state
- Oversee the release of hardware models and prints
- Provide support to the manufacturing organization in the fabrication and integration of developed hardware onto prototype and/or production platforms
- Provide support, as required, for testing and verification of developed hardware
- Provide support for Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis to resolve identified technical issues with prototype and/or production hardware
$38/hr to $48/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
