Position: System Design Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Schedule: 100% On-Site (Evening/Weekend Overtime as Required)

The System Design Engineer is responsible for the development of system and subsystem design, requirements definition, software requirements, integration, and verification testing. This role ensures system designs are fully defined, traceable, and validated during testing down to component and software requirements. The engineer will ensure all assigned tasks and deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of applicable experience
- Strong experience in system, subsystem, and software requirements development, design, and test
- MBSE experience using Cameo Magic Draw (or similar modeling tool) required
- Capital Enterprise experience (or similar software tool) required
- Experience with Requirements Manager (Teamcenter) and/or DOORS
- Experience with data bus systems (CAN J1939, Ethernet), including design, management, and associated data collection/analysis tools
- Experience troubleshooting systems and subsystems
- Ground combat vehicle knowledge preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Design and develop system and subsystem requirements, interfaces, and architecture in a Cameo-based MBSE environment
- Define and maintain traceability of system, subsystem, and software requirements
- Perform functional analysis to develop operational flows and concepts of execution
- Decompose system and subsystem performance and verification requirements and develop design-verification plans and reports
- Identify, define, and manage power, data, and other system interfaces
- Ensure system, subsystem, and component interfaces are maintained
- Ensure system design alignment across physical, power, data, and software domains
- Integrate and verify system and subsystem components in laboratory and vehicle environments
- Define and execute system and subsystem integration, test, and verification plans
- Provide technical input to planning, scheduling, and cost estimation activities
- Ability to work in offices, shops, labs, test sites, and inside vehicles
- Ability to climb on/off and work around military vehicles
- Must be able to pass Anthropometric Size Requirement (ASR) testing for confined spaces
- Ability to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance if required.
