Job Description
  • The Vehicle Process Engineering Core, Fastening Systems/Core Launch Program Supervisor is responsible for leading the development and revision of automotive manufacturing torque tool equipment and processes.
  • The person in this role ensures that standards are implemented and followed in every aspect of the model launch from the project s inception and design through implementation and assembly.
  • The Launch Program Supervisor will manage VPE projects, supervise union represented Engineers within UAW contract requirements and satisfy Manufacturing Quality Assurance System requirements.
  • The Program Supervisor will interface with manufacturing, maintenance, various engineering groups, finance and purchasing.
  • The candidate must possess superior written and verbal communication skills as well as exemplary organizational skills.
  • May cross to other Core groups (Electrical, Alignment). Fastening knowledge preferred.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering or 5+ years of tooling experience
  • 5+ years of experience in General Assembly or equivalent
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills - both orally and in writing. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and advanced in Excel
  • Experience in torque/fastening systems
  • New model vehicle launch experience
  • Experience working with Bargaining Unit employees
  • Willing to travel domestically as required
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
