We're looking for a Process Engineer to support gear machining manufacturing line launch activities for a leading automotive client. This role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality, and efficient processes while collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to ensure successful production outcomes.
Details- Location:
Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite) - Shift Time: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Pay Rate: $46/hr with benefits
- Support manufacturing process engineering for gear machining operations
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
- Complete PPAP and quality launch documentation
- Establish and improve manufacturing processes using engineering principles
- Develop and execute corrective action plans for internal and supplier issues
- Lead process audits and ensure compliance with powertrain guidelines
- Conduct ergonomic evaluations and implement improvements
- Create process documentation, work instructions, and quality methods
- Lead lean manufacturing and variability reduction initiatives
- Identify throughput constraints and drive root-cause improvements
- Ensure compliance with plant, corporate, environmental, and government standards
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, manufacturing processes, and process improvement - Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Gear machining or powertrain experience (milling, grinding, heat treat, etc.)
- Experience with Six Sigma, CAPA, and quality tools (Minitab, QDAS)
- Knowledge of 8D, 5 Whys, DMAIC, DFSS methodologies
